It 's SATURDAY!!!  That really has no meaning right now except I usually shop for a while and try to get in a nap......but, since I am on vacation every day seems like Saturday.  I used to wake up early and watch cartoons with Amy and Jay, would love to do that again, just a few times.
I think this is a new ABC song for you.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18ZT8IrN9qo   (GIGGLEBELLIES abc'S)                                                                                                 There are so many wonderful resources out there, parents, PLEASE work with these precious children.  They learn and they get to spend much wanted time with their favorite person - you!       cute pig video  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24QxEmxh-tc
    PIGS
(A link for a paper pig you can make, and you do not have to paint the plates. Color them pink or white with spots!)

Here's what you'll need...PaperPlatePig6RS6k
• Paper plate
• Dessert sized paper plate*
• Pink construction paper
• Pink pipe cleaner
• Black Marker
• Scissors
• Glue
• Google eyes (optional)
• Hole punch (optional)
*If you don’t have a small paper plate you can always make a circle with pink construction paper.
Here's how you make it...
1. Paint both paper plates pink. Glue the small plate onto the large plate, not in the center, but off set (as shown in the picture).
2. Cut out all of your shapes from pink construction paper. You will need: 4 pig feet, 1 round snout, and 2 triangle ears.
3. Glue all of your paper parts onto your pig's body. Glue on your google eyes (or use a marker to draw them on). Don't forget to draw on your pig's nostrils!
4. Make a hole at the top of your paper plate with a hole punch or scissors. Thread the pink pipe cleaner through the hole and curl it. .busybeekidscrafts.com/Paper-Plate-Pig.html

Also a few pig facts today, did you notice the farm animal theme???

  • Pigs are intelligent animals.
  • Like humans, pigs eat both plants and other animals.
  • A pig’s snout is an important tool for finding food in the ground and sensing the world around them.
  • Pigs have an excellent sense of smell.
  • There are around 2 billion pigs in the world.
  • People  farm pigs for meat such as pork, bacon and ham.
  • Some people like to keep pigs as pets.
  • Wild pigs (boar) are often hunted in the wild.
  • Pigs can pass on a variety of diseases to humans.
  • Relative to their body size, pigs have small lungs.
       *    Pigs can sunburn, that is why they roll in the mud to cover their skin AND to stay cool – they can’t sweat!!!

And last a story, read online, about 3 of my favorite pigs:
